由鷓鴣或油滴再稍熔化而產生釉面流動，而未形成兔毫前的狀況，稱為星盞。碗的上部似兔毫，下部似油滴或鷓鴣。碗的底部多數呈黑色的鏡面。
好的星盞用手可感覺出線條的浮起。在銀色的星盞可看出線條與油滴塊面有透明的立體層次，隨著觀看角度會有不同光影，且色彩會隨之跳動，像夜空的星星–閃閃發亮。
